About Me.
My name is Ania Czajczynski, and I am a Junior Wildlife Conservation & Ecology major at the University of Delaware. As a wildlife major, I spend a large amount of time outside exploring, and I always love taking photos of the wildlife I see! I also have a strange love for exploring and taking photos of abandoned structures and forgotten spaces; however, my skills are a bit lacking.
Photography-wise, I have assisted my older sister, who was a photography major, in her various photo shoots, and worked as a child model for quite some time in my youth. This has allowed me to pick up on bits and pieces throughout the years, but apart from that, I do not have any formal background in photography.
Course Goals
Improve my photography
While I certainly have a love for photography and believe the ability to capture a moment forever is one of the most beautiful things, I lack any real training. As I take a photo on my camera, I just use the default settings because I have no clue what anything does. This is holding back the potential my photos could have. With this course, I hope to learn about the technical aspects behind photography and improve my Instagram!
Embrase my creativity
As a STEM major, things are always very "left-brain" heavy, rarely allowing us the time to explore our creative sides. While in middle school and high school, I was far more in touch with my creativity; college has snuffed that. With this class, I hope to learn to embrase my creative side once again!
Build a wildlife photography portfolio
While I am currently more involved with the science side of wildlife ecology, a large aspect is the photography of the animals. Down the line, I think it could be really cool to do professional wildlife photography, but in order to do that, I need to start building my portfolio. With this class, I hope to begin building a professional portfolio for my future career to assist me in the job market!
